It’s a Lot to Unpack

Hey friend, it’s been a while!

What’s new, you ask? Well, in November, I released my second book, It’s a Lot to Unpack, a memoir of my journey from New York badass to international housewife, and the fifteen-year struggle to find a way back to the woman I left behind.

Since then? Well, I’ve been trying to sell the damn thing, learning all about Amazon ads and social media. Despite the fact that jazz hands make me happy, you should all know I’m very wary of TikTok.

“Here I am waking up in the city that never sleeps. The sounds of Brooklyn are in the background, the reveille of distant sirens and the voices of old Italian ladies on their way to church, an argument in front of the bodega. I’m in a sunny bedroom. The man from Thanksgiving is next to me. It is a Sunday. The two boys are still asleep. Everything is about to change.

And that’s where this story begins.”

Available anywhere you buy your books online, including Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble.

It’s a Lot to Unpack is chock full of history and self-reflection with plenty of laughs and a few tears. It’s about what we value and rediscovering worth and how to hang on to our dreams. It’s my story, but it’s the story of anyone who has gotten a little–or a lot–lost along the way.

Don’t just take my word for it though!

But listen, friends…selling books like a fishwife hawking cod isn’t the only thing I’ve been up to.

I loved writing Wine and Cheese (Doodles), and I loved connecting with so many people over the years and the world. The blog came to a peaceful and natural stopping point, but here it will stay, as an archive for all that we did together.

In the meantime, I’ll be migrating some content over to my author site, Dina Honour. I’d love to see you over there, where I’m putting the finishing touches on a monthly newsletter.

And until I figure out if TikTok and I are going to be besties, come friend me on Instagram.

You can sign up for my newsletter, Word of Honour below. Same saltiness, new content and more.

I’d love to see you there!

Love,
Me

Dina, great to hear from you. Wine & Cheese Doodles was one of my favorite blogs. While we didn’t agree on some things, I always appreciated your perspective. I’m looking forward to reading the book. Regards from Nashville.

The book arrived yesterday and I look forward to starting it this weekend. I was “anonymous”, not sure why it didn’t show my information.
